Institute of Maritime and Safety, Nigeria was established in 2010. The Institute is located at Isolo, Ejigbo area of Lagos State, activities, and far away from the hustle and bustle of Lagos city life. A boarding facility which is a short distance from the Institute is on ground to accommodate students from Nigeria and other African Countries who relish an atmosphere of peace and quietude and in addition, prefer to live in hostel accommodation. The Institute is a technological Institution established to train and produce specialized skilled personnel and to reduce unemployment amongst the educated youth by equipping them with required skills, education and discipline for suitable industrial as well as self-employment.

The college offers programs in the emerging area of technology viz. computer and Hardware Engineering, Safety Management and Technology, Banking Operations and Shipping Management. Our curriculum certainly focus on specialized area that will equip our students to emerge as the most enlightened and required professionals in the industry at international levels.
To fully tap the potentials of the private sector in the area of education, 1993, the Federal Government amended Decree 16 of 1985 in 1993 to allow corporate bodies and individual to establish and operate private polytechnics and monotechnics in the country.

The amended decree now Education, (National Minimum Standards and Establishment of Institutions) CAP E3 LFN 2004 requires the proprietors of such institutions to apply to the Honourable Minister of Education through NBTE. The applications are expected to meet the standards and conditions specified in the law and those specified by NBTE for accreditation of National Diploma Programmes in the country. To this end, The Institute of Marine and Safety, Nigeria took this golden opportunity and applied as an Innovative Enterprise Institution.

All teaching facilities are equipped with relevant furniture items, hand and machine tools, and instruments where applicable. These are seats and writing desks for every student during lectures, a marker/chalkboard, a teacher’s table and chair in classroom/lectures hall or theater. Each student has a work space to undertake his laboratory/workshop/studio assignments.

Provision has been made for a central library large enough to take a third of the readers at a time; this is in addition to the departmental libraries. It is well stocked with relevant books and non-books items, well lit, ventilated and complemented with sufficient e-learning materials.
Adequate number and sizes of workshops/studios to sustain an initial intake of 30 students in each of the two years of the programmes are available for use factor of 0.7 about 30 hours for a 40 hours working week.

It is a higher Institution of learning approved by the National Board for Technical Education, Nigeria. Our Vision is to produce highly skilled and technical personnel offering services to the industry and nation for growth and reliance.
